CASE STUDY · WANDERLUST STORIES

+285% store sales in under two months.

How a luxury resortwear brand nearly quadrupled online sales by fixing the site first, then giving people a reason to pack.

THE STARTING POINT

Beautiful product, hard to buy.

Wanderlust Stories had the range, the showroom and the customer. The website was getting in the way.

Swimwear, the hero category, was buried in the navigation. Curated collections showed pieces that were already sold out in the sizes people wanted. Four hundred and twenty-six product variants used sizing that did not match from one style to the next, and a pop-up was pushing the first thing visitors saw down the page. Traffic was arriving and leaving.

The brief: make the store convert before spending money sending more people to it.

WHAT WE DID

Site first, then the story.

01Rebuilt the store’s structure

Swimwear moved to the top of the navigation. Every one of 426 variants normalised to one sizing format. An automated stock rule so curated collections only show pieces with real availability in sizes 6 to 16. Pop-up fixed, collection copy rewritten.

02The Suitcase Campaign

Destination and season packing edits, Amalfi, winter sun, golden hour, shot as short video. The hook that won: “You’ll pack 14 outfits and wear 4.” It beat the polite service line every time.

03Ads and organic on the same content

Winning edits ran organically first, then as paid social, with cost per order judged against the £104 average order rather than platform reach. Search work ran alongside: new collection pages, revised navigation, meta titles and alt tags. Organic traffic grew 4.2× in seven weeks, ranking keywords went from 10 to 26 and page-one keywords tripled, with backlinks flat the whole time, so the gain is entirely on-page.

WHY IT WORKED

Sales tripled before the budget did.

Most of the first month’s growth came from people who were already visiting and could finally find what they wanted in their size. That is the cheapest growth there is, and it meant every pound of ad spend that followed landed on a store that could turn it into an order.
